Equipment & Devices

In the new ICBS, the term equipment refers to machines and tools that help move or manage supplies such as:

• Forklifts
• Sorting Equipment
• Carts

Devices are machines used for data capture or printing instead of movement and storage. Devices include:

• Wedge bar code scanners (plugged directly into PCs)
• Mobile terminals (portable bar code scanners which communicate with ICBS via a wireless network in the cache)
• Label printers
• Pack list printers

Unlike equipment, devices never store goods; rather, they simply assist in moving data into and out of the ICBS.
